Can you put gel top coat over regular polish?
Our base and top coat set is designed for a compatible gel manicure. We recommend using it with gel color and following the bottle instructions. Regular nail polish dries by air rather than lamp curing, so do not assume it can be used in place of the intended gel layer.
How long to cure base coat gel?
For the SUNUV base and top coat set, the recommended curing interval under a compatible SUNUV UV LED lamp is approximately sixty seconds. Follow the current bottle instructions and use the lamp as directed. Other gel products can require different intervals.
Do you need a base coat for gel polish?
Use the base coat when it is required by your gel system. In our set, the base coat provides the first layer before the compatible color gel, and the top coat finishes the manicure. Follow the product instructions for application order and curing.
Is gel base coat supposed to be sticky?
Some cured gel base and color layers retain a tacky surface as part of the application process. A tacky feel alone does not confirm whether curing is complete. Follow the specific gel instructions and finish with the appropriate top coat rather than extending lamp time by guesswork.
What is no-wipe gel top coat?
A no-wipe gel top coat is designed to leave its intended finish without a separate wiping step after proper curing. The SUNUV set includes a no-wipe glossy top coat. Apply and cure it as directed on the bottle with a compatible UV LED lamp.
